Papillion, NE - BAT Logistics, a third party logistics provider, was recently approved by the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) as a $100,000 Performance Certified member.
This protection provides guarantee of freight payment to carriers, shippers and other third party logistics providers in excess of the $10,000 bond required by the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration.
As of 2010, less than 10 percent of all 3pl providers have been approved for this program.
To qualify for this program, the company must agree to abide by a strict TIA code of ethics, maintain an A credit rating, utilize written agreements with all parties to insure solid business practices, maintain written qualifications between carrier partners and demonstrate the abilty to secure a $100,000 surety bond.
As of October 22, 2009 only 42 third party logistics providers out of an estimated 15,000 licensed providers in the United States have been approved for this program.
